I have been using many methods for hair removal (razors, waxing, other epilators, etc.). This is the best product I have ever seen. You can trim, shave or remove from root, anything you like. With a couple of tricks, epilation can be much less bothersome. The most important thing is to keep your leg hair at around 1 mm prior to removal of them. This will GREATLY reduce pain. Secondly, to prevent ingrown hair problem, shave you legs once a month. If you keep those two in your mind, you will love Silk-epil.
Rating: - great product
I got this product as a gift purchased off my wishlist. This was the first epilator I have tried. I use it on my legs it removes all of the hair, but it is time consuming. I spend probably an hour or so each time I use it which is about monthly. My leg hair has grown back super fine and soft just after the first use. In some areas I have noticed it has not even come back after a few months of usage. I use the shaver attachment for my bikini area (nice and smooth and no ingrown hairs). I haven't tried the product on my underarms, but I don't mind using a traditional shaver for that area. This is a great product, even if you get it and the epilator is too painful for you to use you can still use it as a shaver. The pain is equivalent to plucking your eyebrows for the first time. After plucking your eyebrows the pain eventually lessons and subsides. I think the pain is less then it is waxing, because you are doing a small area at a time, but the whole process takes much longer. Overall you will save a ton of money using this product instead of waxing. Epilator Warnings: 1. If it is too painful for you to use a tweezers anywhere on your body I wouldn't get this product unless you just want to use it just with the shaver attachment. If you are daring and really want to try it but if you are really sensitive to pain I would use ice packs to numb the area beforehand. 2. This product is time consuming. It will take you 1-2 hours to completely do your legs for the first time. Let your hair grow out for about a week before using it the first time. Hair grows at different times and you have a better chance and grabbing it all if you wait a week or two before using. 3. Product is difficult to grab hair if it is very long i.e. pubic hair or leg hair that has grown more then a month. So I could recommend trimming it down before use or not waiting so long before using it. 4. The cord isn't very long so if were you are going to use it is more then a few feet away from the outlet I would use a short extension cord. 5. Hold your skin taunt with your fingers it makes grabbing the hair and removing it much easier! Also it can hurt if it grabs onto some of your skin. It won't make you bleed but it feels like a sharp pinch if it catches your skin. Epilator Advice: 1. Don't give up if the first time you use it... if it hurts so bad you want to stop using it. Next time try to use an ice pack on the area beforehand to numb it. 2. You should use an exfoliator weekly to prevent ingrown hairs. I haven't had a problem with any ingrown hairs as of yet and I have been using it for about 3 months. 3. My skin is usually a little pink and slightly puffy after use but it subides shortly there after. I would not use this the day of a big event because you will most likely still be a little puffy and tender. Just like they recommend with waxing I would use it either the day before or a few days before the big day. 4. Sit some place comfortable, I use it on my bed, but put a bath towel under you or you will have tiny hairs all over! I love this product and the best part is no batteries and it saves you so much money!
Rating: - I am finally free, free, freeeeee from waxing!!!!!!
I despise razors because it's an every day affair and waxing was my only alternative. I normally spend $80 a month and wait weeks waiting for hair long enough to be waxed (not a pretty sight in summer) and for an appointment. I love this gamble I took, after all it's less than 1 waxing session! I love it! I notice no pain while getting legs and bikini waxed but cry like a baby during my brows. Much less painful than the Original EpiLady, who ruined me forever for epi systems. I only noticed pain in the bikini area but then I tried to focus instead on how much I was saving by using this! : )
