Rating: - Perfect bread machine for my family!!
I was so hesitant to give up my faithful old Panasonic bread machine, but it was giving out!! I visited many sites (and stores) and found the Zorjirushi to have all the features that I was looking for at a bargin price. I have made 2-3 loaves of bread every day for 3 weeks now, and my family is thrilled (7 people). The shape of the pan/ final bread is definately an improvement over the vertical loaves- there is no awkardly shaped slices and no waste! The instructions are easy to follow and the recipes cover all the ususal types of breads one would typically expect. I love the 'sandwich' setting which produces a bread easy to slice and able to hold together peanut butter and stacked standwiches without falling apart or sogging. I have also expermented with recipies from other cookbooks with wonderful results---I was happy that my favorite honey french bread recipe tunred out perfectly!! The pumpkin bread, made on the cake setting, was also a big hit. Wonderful tasting bread and doughs, simple to use, all the features I wanted (add beep, timer, crust darkness control, whole wheat setting, rapid recipes, keep warm setting, etc), a great price, and larger size loaves make this machine a great addition to any family who loves good, preservative free bread!!
Rating: - Top of the Line
I bought this for my wife for Christmas 18 months ago. Before buying, I queried all my friends about breadmakers. All said the same thing, Zojirushi! They were right. It is easy to use, and makes GREAT bread of all kinds. Wheat, white, rye, triticale (Tribbles love it!), raisin bread. The smell of fresh bread is a real wake-up in the morning. Preparing the night before is a 5-7 minute job. The loaf is conventional shape and the baking pan is a snap to clean. The only thing to remember is that breadmaking is like chemistry... measure carefully and don't leave out ingredients. When I had a minor problem, I emailed the company and they replied immediately and sent me the part free. You won't regret buying this machine. This is the way a consumer product should work. The satisfaction of high quality remains long after the pleasure of low price is gone.
Rating: - We love it! Makes great low-sodium bread, too.
My husband watches his sodium very carefully and it is very hard to find tasty low sodium bread. I was apprehensive about how the bread would rise, or rather sink, but I just made a loaf of white and it was great. I added no salt and even put in Take Control spread instead of sweet butter, and the bread rose beautifully. I used King Alfred flour and Fleishman's bread machine yeast. I am looking forward to making other flavored low-sodium breads. Even my two young girls love it.I don't do much baking, but this machine makes it simple. It takes no longer to make a loaf of fresh bread than it does to bake a cake mix. Just pour in a few ingredients, and viola! Yesterday I made onion-cheese bread and it is nearly gone already. I usually go through 2-3 loaves of bread a week, so I figure that the machine will pay for itself over time. I do have a few cautionary remarks: Even the most beautifully shaped loaf has tell-tale holes in the bottom from the beaters and small ridges on the sides, so it is obvious that the bread came from a machine rather than your oven. I have had to shake the pan REALLY hard to get the bread out, but so far, no disasters.
